Max Kreijn has a diverse work experience in the fields of co-founding and strategy leadership, digital innovation and strategy consulting.
In 2015, Max co-founded NearSt, a retail tech startup that connects local inventory to the web. Max served as the Co-Founder & Strategy Lead, and under their leadership, NearSt partnered with Google to display nearby shop stock in Google Search. NearSt's technology received recognition and awards, including 'Europe's Hottest Retail Tech Startup' at TechCrunch's The Europas Awards.
From 2009 to 2015, Max founded and worked at Open Activation, where they developed a methodology to help traditional businesses compete with digital disruptors like Uber and Airbnb. The company provided tools and structures for disruptive digital innovations and offered services such as assessing and analyzing the digital potential of organizations. Max also worked as a Digital Strategy Consultant during this time, serving clients such as Heineken, Rabobank, and Open University. Max specialized in areas such as brand development, social media strategies, product innovation, stakeholder and community activation, and content strategy.
Max also had experience working at Ogilvy & Mather as a Strategy Consultant in the Social@Ogilvy team. Max focused on program innovation, influencer and community activation, social media strategy, insight research, and conversation optimization. Some of the notable brands they worked with during this time include BP for the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games, UPS, Philips, American Express, Volvo, and Unicef.
Earlier in their career, Max worked at Lemz Advertising as a Junior Strategic Planner. Max contributed to the development of brand activation strategies and supported the strategy department with PR, campaign monitoring, consumer insights, and market research. Max worked on campaigns for notable brands such as IKEA, Coca-Cola Zero, Doctors Without Borders, and Unilever brands.

Max Kreijn attended Zuyd Hogeschool | Zuyd University of Applied Sciences from 2001 to 2006, where they graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communication & Multimedia Design. In 2006, they also attended Maastricht University for a Masterclass in Entrepreneurship & Business Planning. From 2010 to 2012, Max Kreijn studied CIM/CAM Marketing Communications at the London School of Marketing.
