Paul Childs has a diverse and extensive work experience in various roles and industries. Paul started their career as a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at Tsinghua University from 2008 to 2009. After that, they worked as a Marie Curie Research Fellow at the Foundation for Research and Technology-Hellas from 2010 to 2011. Paul then joined the University of New South Wales as a Research Assistant from 2011 to 2012.

In 2013, Paul worked as a Process Engineer at Finisar and later joined Allied Express as a Senior IT Programmer from October 2013 to June 2014. Paul then worked as a Software Developer at Dexata from April 2015 to April 2018.

From 2018 to 2020, Paul served as a Senior Data Scientist at Anditi Pty Limited, where they were involved in LiDAR classification algorithms, computer vision, and high-performance computing. In 2020, they joined Cordel as a Senior Developer until April 2023.

Paul's most recent role is as a Senior Software Engineer at Neara, starting from April 2023. Prior to that, they worked as a Contractor at Secure Electronics, where they were responsible for acoustic beamforming algorithm development, GUI design, and patent applications.

Paul Childs has a strong education background in the fields of engineering, physics, and teaching. Paul obtained a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree in Electrical, Electronics, and Communications Engineering from UNSW, which they pursued from 2003 to 2007. Prior to that, they completed a Master's degree in Photonics from UNSW, which they obtained between 2001 and 2002. Paul also holds a Bachelor's degree in Physics from UNSW, which they completed from 1998 to 2000.

In terms of their secondary education, Paul attended Sydney Technical High School from 1992 to 1997. As for their primary education, they completed their schooling at Oatley Public from 1985 to 1991.

Besides their formal degrees, Paul has obtained several certifications. Paul has achieved the CCNA certification from Cisco, with specializations in Security, Wireless, and Networking. Paul obtained these certifications in different months of 2014 and 2015. Furthermore, they also hold a HSK-2 certification from the Chinese government's Mandarin proficiency agency, which they acquired in November 2014.
