Jared Zurn has extensive work experience in the field of architecture. Jared started their career in 1999 as a Division Chair and Architectural Technology Instructor at Minnesota State Community & Technical College. During this time, they oversaw financial management, faculty resource management, and program development. Jared also led the development of a joint-degree program in architectural and civil engineering technology.
In 2006, Jared established their own architectural firm, Zurn Architecture, LLC. As the Principal, they focused on residential design in the northwest Minnesota area. Jared prioritized the environmental impact of residential construction on natural properties, completing several homes in the 412 Lakes area.
In 2008, Jared joined the National Council of Architectural Registration Boards (NCARB). Initially serving as the Assistant Director of Examination Development, they played a crucial role in the development and delivery of the Architect Registration Examination (ARE). Jared later became the Vice President of Examination, working as part of the senior leadership team to inform organizational goals and policies. In this capacity, they led various cross-council initiatives and represented the council in outreach efforts.
Overall, Jared brings a diverse range of experiences, including teaching, program development, architectural design, and leadership within a professional organization.
Jared Zurn has a Master of Public Administration (MPA) degree with a focus on Business and Nonprofit Management from Old Dominion University. Jared also holds a Bachelor of Architecture (BArch) degree from North Dakota State University, as well as a Bachelor of Science degree in Environmental Design from the same institution. In addition, Jared has completed a Career & Technical Education Sequence in their studies at Bemidji State University.
Furthermore, Jared Zurn has obtained several certifications throughout their career. Jared is a Certified Association Executive (CAE) from ASAE: The Center for Association Leadership, which they achieved in June 2019. Moreover, they hold a National Council of Architectural Registration Boards Certification (NCARB) since August 2006. Lastly, they possess an Architect License (Incl. Corporation & Joint Practice) from the State of Minnesota, obtained in March 2006.
