Thijs Maartens is an experienced policymaker and project leader currently serving at Natuur en Milieufederatie Flevoland since January 2022. Additionally, Maartens has been a fractiemedewerker for GroenLinks Noord-Holland since August 2020 and previously worked as a projectmedewerker for Natuur en Milieufederatie Noord-Holland. Prior roles include reception duties at GroenLinks and sales clerk responsibilities at Athenaeum Boekhandel, alongside bookkeeping tasks. Maartens served as a student-member on the Board of Studies for European Studies at the University of Amsterdam and as a sailing instructor at Zeilschool Waterland, teaching children aged 6 to 15. Educational qualifications include a bachelor's degree and a master's degree in European Politics and External Relations, both obtained from the University of Amsterdam, following secondary education at Montessori Lyceum Amsterdam.
