Steve Davies

Vice President, Performance Packaging at NatureWorks

Steve Davies has over 30 years of work experience in various roles within the chemical industry. Steve started their career as a Process Engineer at Allied Signal Inc. in 1986 and worked their way up to roles such as Senior Process Engineer, Process Engineering Manager, and Polymer Process Development and Operations Manager until 2001.

From 2002 to 2003, Steve worked as an Applications Development Manager at Honeywell (formerly Allied Signal). In 2003, they joined Cargill Dow/Natureworks as the Director of Fibers Business Development.

Steve then transitioned to NatureWorks, where they held multiple positions from 2003 to 2017. Steve started as a Marketing Director and later became the Director of Marketing & Communications. From 2011 to 2017, Steve served as the Director of Public Affairs & Communications, where they managed public relations, government affairs, marketing, and corporate communications.

Their most recent role was as the Vice President of Performance Packaging at NatureWorks from 2017 until now. In this role, Steve was responsible for leading a business team in developing and implementing business strategies, defining products and pricing, and managing external relationships with customers, industry associations, and non-profit organizations.

Steve Davies obtained a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from the University of Richmond in the period from 1995 to 1998. Prior to that, they earned a Master of Science (MS) in Chemical Engineering from The University of Texas at Austin between 1984 and 1986. Steve's undergraduate studies were completed at North Carolina State University, where they graduated with a Bachelor of Science (BS) in Chemical Engineering from 1980 to 1984. Additionally, in 1979-1980, they pursued Chemical Engineering at the University of Birmingham without obtaining a specific degree. Recently, in 2021, Steve earned a certification in the Executive Finance Program from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business Executive Education.
