Kendra Byrd

Senior Research Fellow - Food Systems And Nutrition at Natural Resources Institute

Kendra Byrd, PhD, MSc, serves as a Senior Research Fellow in Food Systems and Nutrition at the Natural Resources Institute since January 2022, focusing on developing research partnerships and leading projects aimed at improving food systems and dietary indicators in various regions, including Timor-Leste and Uganda. With previous roles as a Nutrition Scientist Consultant at WorldFish and as a Postdoctoral Scholar at the University of California, Davis, Kendra has extensive experience in nutrition-related research, data analysis, and program implementation. A strong advocate for evidence-based interventions, Kendra has published findings in peer-reviewed journals and has mentored graduate students throughout their career. Kendra holds a PhD in International Nutrition from the University of California, Davis, an MSc in Nutritional Science from California State University, Chico, and a BS in Biological Sciences from Hawaii Pacific University.
