Daniel Zay is an experienced professional in environmental conservation and resource management with over three decades in various roles. Currently serving as the State Resource Conservationist for the Natural Resources Conservation Service since November 2013, Daniel manages the Ecological Sciences Section in Michigan and leads the nation's largest Wetland Compliance program. Previously, Daniel held positions such as State Biologist, Project Manager for the US Army Corps of Engineers, and Chairman of the Watertown Charter Township Planning Commission. Additionally, Daniel's early career included roles at J.F. New & Associates, where innovative ecological restoration projects were initiated, and with the Indiana Department of Natural Resources, managing numerous nature preserves. Daniel holds a Bachelor of Science in Landscape Architecture from Purdue University, obtained between 1976 and 1980.
