Ryan Morten began their work experience in 2011 as a Desktop Support Specialist for the Los Angeles Unified School District. Ryan then joined Nordstromrack.com | HauteLook, a Nordstrom Company, in 2013, where they held roles such as Desktop Analyst and Technical Operations Support. During their time at Nordstromrack.com | HauteLook, Ryan was involved in various responsibilities such as OS X administration, JIRA and Confluence development, and crisis response. In 2015, Ryan joined NationBuilder as a Systems Engineer and later became a Senior System Engineer. In this role, they led a project to migrate the company's AWS infrastructure and another project to migrate CDNs.

Ryan Morten attended Pasadena City College from 2001 to 2004, where they earned an Associate of Science (A.S.) degree in Computer and Information Sciences and Support Services. Ryan then went on to California State Polytechnic University-Pomona from 2005 to 2010, where they obtained a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree in Philosophy.
