Michael Weir has extensive work experience in manufacturing operations and leadership roles. Starting in 1997, they worked as a Production Manager at Carlex where they oversaw a highly automated production operation. Michael then joined Luxottica Retail, where they served as a Production Manager and later as a Plant Manager at their optical manufacturing facility. In 2011, they joined Carlisle Transportation Products as a Value Stream Manager and later as an Engineering Manager. From 2014 to 2017, they worked as a Plant Manager at Firestone Industrial Products, leading a manufacturing plant with over 400 teammates. Michael then served as a Plant Manager at Sea Ray Boats from 2017 to 2019 before becoming the VP of Manufacturing and Engineering at The Hinckley Company. Currently, they hold the position of Director of Manufacturing Operations at National Vision Inc.

Michael Weir attended Tennessee Technological University from 1985 to 1990, where they earned a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering. In 2011 and 2012, they studied at Villanova University and received a Six Sigma Black Belt and a Master's Certificate in Lean Six Sigma. Prior to their university education, they attended Oak Ridge High School from 1982 to 1985.
