M. Aravinda Kishan Peiris currently serves as a Field Scientist and Marine Surveyor at ERGONAV Group, starting in March 2023, where responsibilities include sampling and testing vessels' ballast water to ensure compliance with US EPA Vessel General Permit and USCG regulations. This role encompasses working with various vessel types such as container ships, tankers, LNG carriers, and dry bulk vessels, while analyzing parameters including pH, chlorine content, biocides, chlorophyll, organic matter, zooplankton, and phytoplankton. In addition to this position, M. Aravinda Kishan Peiris is pursuing a Doctor of Philosophy in Marine Sciences at National Sun Yat-Sen University, ongoing since August 2020, and holds a Bachelor of Science in Fisheries and Marine Sciences with a focus in Oceanography and Marine Geology from the University of Ruhuna, completed in December 2016.
