Akmal Amrun has extensive experience in the field of sports management and coaching, currently serving as a Sports Manager at the National Sports Council of Malaysia since February 2014. Roles include Head Coach of both the Elite Road & Track Endurance and Junior Track Endurance Cycling Teams, as well as Assistant Director Sportive for the NSC - Mycron Continental Team. Prior to this, Akmal held the position of Assistant Secretary at the Selangor Cycling Association and completed an internship at PETRONAS. Akmal began a career in cycling as a National Cyclist for the National Sports Council of Malaysia from January 2002 to December 2012. Educational qualifications include a Bachelor's of Science in Human Resources Development from Universiti Putra Malaysia and a postgraduate degree in Business Administration and Management from Malaysia University of Science and Technology, expected to be completed in 2025. Akmal's early education was completed at Bukit Jalil Sports School, focusing on Sports and Exercise.
