Kristin Zipperlen has a diverse work experience in fields such as agriculture, communications, and research. Kristin currently holds the position of Manager of Industry Public Relations at the National Pork Board since May 2021. Previously, they worked at Liepold Farms Precision Agriculture as a Communications and Marketing Coordinator, where they focused on implementing sustainable practices to improve yields and reduce runoff. Kristin also worked at Seaboard Foods as a Communications Specialist, Assistant Communications Specialist, and Communications Management Trainee, where they developed and executed various communication projects and managed the Kansas City Community Giving Program. Additionally, Kristin worked as a Student Research Assistant at the University of Minnesota Applied Economics Department, where they analyzed survey results for multiple markets. Kristin also gained experience as a Communication and Marketing Intern at Minnesota Grown and as a Student Forces Media Team member at the National Pork Board. Moreover, they volunteered as a Manager at the All You Can Drink Milkstand at the Minnesota State Fair and as a Production Intern at Christensen Farms, gaining skills in volunteer management, farm labor, and animal welfare.
Kristin Zipperlen earned a Bachelor's degree in Agricultural Communication/Journalism from the University of Minnesota, where they attended from 2014 to 2018. Following this, they pursued a Swine Science Professional Certificate in Swine Science at South Dakota State University in 2018-2019.
