Matt Hall

Principal Research Scientist at NATIONAL PHYSICAL LABORATORY LIMITED

Matt Hall is a Principal Research Scientist at the National Physical Laboratory, where work focuses on developing metrology for quantitative MRI and improving quality assurance and control methods for better national and international MRI standardization. Prior to this role, Matt served as a Senior Research Associate at the Institute of Child Health, leading the development of biophysical models for diffusion MR images relevant to Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy. Earlier experience includes positions at University College London, where Matt worked on machine learning techniques for EEG-based brain-computer interfaces and Monte-Carlo simulation for diffusion MRI. Additional roles include supervising risk assessments at the Financial Services Authority and various research positions in medical imaging. Matt holds a PhD in Mathematical Physics from Imperial College London and an MPhys in Physics from The University of Sheffield.
