Kierra Christie

Biological Science Technician at National Park Service

Kierra Christie is an experienced research scholar at the Doris Duke Charitable Foundation, actively participating in a competitive conservation scholar internship aimed at diversifying the field of conservation since May 2018. Previously, Kierra held multiple roles at North Carolina State University, including College of Natural Resources Student Ambassador, Administrative Coordinator, and Undergraduate Research Assistant, focusing on bioenergy research by measuring tree diameter across various sites in North Carolina. An internship with the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service involved urban outreach initiatives, networking with educational institutions, and creating environmental education programs. Kierra also gained lab experience at the University of Florida, collaborating on projects assessing sea level rise and ocean temperature increases. Holding a Bachelor of Science degree in Environmental Technology and Management from North Carolina State University, Kierra combines academic knowledge with hands-on experience in environmental conservation and education.
