Matthew Kingsland is a Senior Robotic Systems Engineer at the National Oceanography Centre, where responsibilities include designing and operating advanced submarines since February 2018. Prior to this role, Matthew served at Sonardyne International Ltd as both a Communications Application Engineer and Project Engineer from September 2012 to February 2018, focusing on the delivery of subsea command and control systems through custom projects. An earlier experience includes a summer placement as an Undergraduate Systems Engineer at BAE Systems, working on military communications systems, and a year-long industry placement as an Undergraduate Software Engineer at BAE Systems, enhancing military communication technologies. Additionally, Matthew began a career as a Bicycle Mechanic at Halfords from 2006 to 2008. Matthew holds a Bachelor of Engineering (BEng) in Systems Engineering from Loughborough University, earned between 2007 and 2012.
