Mona Hammill has a diverse work experience spanning over two decades. Mona began their career as a Development Coordinator for Marketing and Recruitment at the National MS Society-North Florida Chapter in 2002. Mona eventually worked their way up to Vice President of Development, managing a fundraising department responsible for 34 counties in North Florida. During their tenure, they implemented a successful special event, the "MS Mud Run," which tripled fundraising and participants within the second year, raising over $650,000.
Following their time at the National MS Society, Mona held various roles in fundraising and event management. Mona worked as a Development Manager at the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, where they oversaw sponsor development, participant recruitment, and fundraiser training for five Great Strides events and Cycle for Life, raising over $200k total. Mona also managed social media platforms and engaged with users to grow the foundation's online presence.
Mona worked as a Fundraising Events Manager at the Wounded Warrior Project, where they led a team in planning and executing the organization's pinnacle fundraising gala in New York City, raising $1.5M with over 1,000 attendees and volunteers. Mona also served as a Fundraising Events Manager at No Barriers USA, generating over $300k in revenue through coordinating special events and managing corporate sponsorships.
In the non-profit sector, Mona also worked at the Crohn's & Colitis Foundation of America as a National Walk Manager, coaching and supporting a multi-chapter territory in donor sponsorship, participant recruitment, team management, fundraising, and logistics. At the USO, they served as a Center Operations and Programs Manager and Regional Operations Manager, managing the delivery and evaluation of programs and services across various regions.
Mona's work experience also includes roles at Amazon, where they worked as an Area Manager responsible for maintaining compliance, consistency, and safety standards. Mona also served as a Warehouse Associate, focusing on customer experience, safety, and productivity.
Most recently, Mona joined the National MS Society in 2023 as a Senior Director, Leadership Events.
Mona Hammill received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Criminal Justice from Valdosta State University, where they studied from 1996 to 2000. In addition, they have obtained certifications in "Creating a Program Strategy" and "Program Management Foundations" from LinkedIn in 2022.
