Abby Oaks is the Director of Social Issues and Reputational Risk at the National Journal. Prior to joining the firm, Abby served as an Account Supervisor at The Bliss Group, helping develop its Impact practice, and as a Manager in Weber Shandwick's Corporate Issues and Crisis practice.
In her time working with large public clients, Abby leveraged her deep understanding of digital, cultural and social landscapes to provide risk analysis and strategic counsel on topics including workplace issues and activism, mis/disinformation, diversity and inclusion, sustainability and representation, among others. Her experience includes planning for likely threats, counsel on reputation risks, issues analysis and reputational building through stakeholder engagement.
Before joining the private sector, Abby majored in Political Science at Villanova University and got a taste of D.C. during an internship with the Department of Treasury. She currently resides in New York City and is from Seattle, Washington.
