José Carlos Villegas currently serves as the Managing Editor for the Journal of the National Hispanic Medical Association and as Communications Manager for the National Hispanic Medical Association. With a background in strategic communications as an Independent Consultant and experience as a Special Project Coordinator for the United Nations Population Fund, José has also worked as an Editor at El Diario de Chihuahua and held an academic position as a Graduate Research and Teaching Assistant at the University of Virginia. Educational qualifications include a Master's degree in Media Studies from the University of Virginia and degrees in Philosophy from both the Universidad Autónoma de Chihuahua and the University of Buenos Aires.
