Elizabeth Lafferty is a Mechanical Engineer at the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) since September 2022. Previously, Elizabeth served as a Biomechanical Research Engineer at Katmai Government Services, focusing on accelerative injury research. Prior experience includes roles as a Project Engineer in Biomechanics at General Dynamics Information Technology, and a System Engineer at Northrop Grumman Corporation, where Elizabeth worked on algorithm development and signal processing. Early career roles involved coaching soccer and conducting research in head injury biomechanics at Wake Forest Baptist Health and studying tumor growth through BioMEMS as an undergraduate researcher at Vanderbilt University. Elizabeth holds a Master’s degree in Injury Biomechanics from Wake Forest University and a Bachelor of Engineering in Biomedical/Medical Engineering from Vanderbilt University.
