Derar Tarawneh, Ph.D., EIT has a diverse work experience spanning from 2014 to 2022. Derar began their career as a Site Engineer at Albidag construction company in 2014. From 2015 to 2016, they worked as a Teaching Assistant at the University of Jordan. In 2016, they transitioned to the role of an Infrastructure Engineer at Loyalty support services - LSS. In 2017, they joined Al-Hussein Bin Talal University as a Lecturer and also began their role as a Research Assistant and PHD Candidate at Ohio University. During their time at Ohio University, they also served as a Laboratory Technician. Currently, they are employed at National Engineering & Architectural Services Inc. as a Geotechnical Staff Engineer/Office Manager. Previously, they held the position of Geotechnical staff Engineer at the same company.
Derar Tarawneh, Ph.D., EIT has an extensive education history in the field of Civil Engineering. Derar began their education at Mutah University, where they obtained a Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from 2009 to 2014. Derar then pursued further studies at the University of Jordan, specializing in Transportation and Highway Engineering, and earned a Master's degree from 2014 to 2016.
Continuing their academic journey, Derar Tarawneh enrolled in the doctoral program at Ohio University, focusing on Civil Engineering. From 2017 to 2022, they pursued their Doctor of Philosophy degree (Ph.D.), conducting research and expanding their expertise in the field.
In addition to their formal education, Derar Tarawneh has also obtained various certifications to enhance their professional skills. These certifications include Radiation Safety and Chemical Hygiene Training from Ohio University, obtained in August 2019 and August 2017, respectively. Derar also earned a certification in Health Monitoring of Damaged Transportation Infrastructure from the Jordan Engineers Association in May 2017. Additionally, they obtained certifications in Advanced AUTOCAD and Quantity Surveyor from the Jordan Engineers Association in May 2013 and March 2013, respectively. Finally, they hold the certification of Asphalt Quality Control (Level 2 Certified Asphalt Technician) from the Ohio Department of Transportation, obtained in September 2019.
