Haroon Sharif is a prominent economist and leader in development policy with extensive experience across various organizations. Currently serving as Chairman of the Pakistan Regional Economic Forum since June 2024, Haroon focuses on creating a regional market that benefits the people. As a Senior Fellow at the Pakistan Institute of Development Economics and a Distinguished Visiting Fellow at the National Defence University Islamabad, Haroon contributes to academic and policy discussions. Previous roles include founding the Belt & Road Investment Forum, serving as Senior Advisor at UNDP Pakistan, and holding the position of Senior Regional Advisor at The World Bank, where Haroon facilitated economic cooperation in South and Central Asia. Haroon's educational background includes a Master's degree in Development Economics from The London School of Economics, further enhanced by studies at the University of Hawaii and Government College University, Lahore.
