Shannon Holston

Shannon Holston has a diverse and extensive work experience. Shannon currently holds the position of Chief, Policy & Programs at the National Council on Teacher Quality since July 2020. Prior to that, they worked as an Independent Consultant starting in March 2020. From October 2017 to March 2020, they served as the Director of Educator Effectiveness at the Delaware Department of Education. Before that, Shannon held the role of Deputy Officer of Educator Preparation from November 2015 to September 2017 and Deputy Officer of School Leadership Strategy from June 2014 to November 2015, both at the Delaware Department of Education. Shannon also worked as the Supervisor of Accountability and Performance at the Seaford School District from August 2012 to June 2014 and as the Deputy Officer of Accountability for the School Turnaround Unit at the Delaware Department of Education from December 2010 to August 2012. Shannon's earlier work experience includes being an Education Researcher/Program Manager at the University of Delaware from June 2006 to December 2010.

Shannon Holston earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in History Education from the University of Delaware, which was completed between 2000 and 2004. Additionally, Shannon pursued education in policy at the University of Delaware, receiving a Master's in Public Administration with a specialization in Education Policy.
