Mark Summers currently serves as the Executive Director of Technology and Strategic Development Director at the National Composites Centre since July 2022, and as a Director at Composites UK since October 2023. Mark is also actively involved as a volunteer staff member for the Severn Area Rescue Association and participates in the Made Smarter Innovation Advisory Group. Previously, Mark held positions such as Head of Advanced Manufacturing & Materials at the National Physical Laboratory and Head of Technology - Structures, Manufacturing & Materials at the Aerospace Technology Institute. Mark's contributions extend to various advisory roles, including membership in the Science Advisory Board for the EPSRC Future Metrology Hub and the Manufacturing and Supply Chain Working Group of the Aerospace Growth Partnership. Mark holds a BEng Hons in Manufacturing Systems from Birmingham City University and a PGCERT in Business Management from Lancaster University.
