Thomas Yu has extensive experience in community development and strategic leadership, serving as the Executive Director of Asian Americans for Equality and the Downtown Manhattan Community Development Corporation since September 2001. In addition to these roles, Thomas Yu is a Board Member of the National Coalition for Asian Pacific American Community Development, an Advisory Board Member at Valley National Bank, and has been involved with Hester Street's Board of Directors since 2007. Previous positions include Chair of the Parks, Landmarks, and Waterfront Committee for Community Board 3 and Board Member for both Tenants & Neighbors and the Neighborhood Preservation Coalition of NYS. Thomas Yu holds a Bachelor of Arts in Government from Harvard University and a Master's degree in Urban Planning from NYU's Robert F. Wagner Graduate School of Public Service.
