Gopi Shah Goda is a seasoned economist with extensive experience spanning over two decades in various prestigious roles. Currently serving as a Research Associate and Faculty Research Fellow at the National Bureau of Economic Research since April 2010, Gopi is also a Senior Fellow, Deputy Director, and Research Scholar at the Stanford Institute for Economic Policy Research since September 2009. Gopi's experience includes a tenure as Senior Economist at the Council of Economic Advisers at The White House from July 2021 to July 2022 and a Robert Wood Johnson Scholar in Health Policy Research at Harvard University from August 2007 to July 2009. Early career highlights include roles as an Actuarial Associate at Northwestern Mutual and actuarial internships at Hewitt Associates and Allstate Insurance Company. Gopi attained Fellowship in the Society of Actuaries in 2004 and holds a Ph.D. in Economics from Stanford University and a B.S. in Math and Actuarial Science from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln.
