Nicolas S. Gonzalez has a range of work experience in the fields of communications, public relations, and volunteer coordination. From 2014 to the present, they have worked for the National Audubon Society, starting as a Media Relations Manager before transitioning into the role of Senior Communications Manager, Migration Science. In these roles, Nicolas has been responsible for overseeing Audubon's science profile in the media, developing and executing communications plans, and maintaining relationships with reporters. Prior to their work at Audubon, Nicolas was a Volunteer at the American Museum of Natural History's Butterfly Conservatory exhibit from 2013 to 2018. Nicolas S. also worked as an Account Coordinator at Fenton from 2011 to 2014 and as a Compliance Manager at EF Education First from 2010 to 2011. At EF Education First, they served as a volunteer coordinator, screened host family applicants, and trained field staff.

Nicolas S. Gonzalez attended Brown University from 2006 to 2010, where they earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Biology. In 2009, they also spent a year studying at Humboldt University. Prior to their college education, Nicolas attended Loyola High School from 2002 to 2006.
