Kelly McNab

Communications Associate at National Audubon Society

Kelly McNab has a diverse work experience in the environmental conservation field. Kelly started their career as an Intern at Katy Prairie Conservancy in 2010 and later worked as an Environmental Specialist at James Environmental Management, Inc. in 2016.

In 2013, Kelly had internships at Trees, Water & People and Colorado State University's Center for Collaborative Conservation. Kelly then became a National Development Intern at Trees, Water & People in 2013.

From 2014 to 2015, Kelly worked as a Conservation Lands Biologist at Bayou Land Conservancy. Kelly then joined St. Edward's University as a Geographic Information Systems Tutor in 2015 and later served as a Sustainability Graduate Assistant, assisting in program development and promotion.

In 2017, Kelly took on the role of Estuaries Program Conservation Associate - Policy Department at the Conservancy of Southwest Florida. Kelly finalized the Estuaries Report Card, created Esri Story Maps, worked on Everglades Restoration legislation, and participated in meetings to protect land, water, and wildlife.

Kelly continued their career at the Conservancy of Southwest Florida as an Environmental Policy and Planning Specialist from 2018 to 2021. In this role, they provided leadership on growth management issues, water policy, listed species protection, and land conservation. Kelly developed and implemented water policy campaigns, monitored compliance of settlement agreements, and completed daily office tasks.

Most recently, Kelly joined the National Audubon Society as a Communications Associate in 2021.

Kelly McNab pursued their education with a focus on environmental management and sustainability. Starting in 2011, they attended Colorado State University, where they earned their Bachelor of Science degree in Natural Resources Management in 2014. Continuing their academic journey, Kelly enrolled at St. Edward's University from 2015 to 2017, where they completed a Professional Master's in Environmental Management & Sustainability.
