Gustavo Figueroa has a diverse range of work experiences, primarily in the field of conservation and environmental advocacy. Gustavo started their career as a Field Crew Member for The Nature Conservancy's LEAF Alumni Forest Health Program in 2014, where they surveyed the health of various tree species in the New York City area and monitored the presence of invasive species. Gustavo then took on the role of Assistant Supervisor for the same program in 2015, where they assisted in the tree identification process and data collection for analyzing tree health indicators. In 2016, Gustavo worked as a Global Conservation Campaign GLOBE Intern for The Nature Conservancy. Gustavo joined the Climate Risk & Resilience and Corporate Engagement teams as a Roger Arliner Young Conservation Fellow in 2017, where they supported the teams' work with partnerships, communications, and fundraising content. Most recently, Gustavo worked as a Student Outreach Associate for the National Audubon Society starting in 2018.
Gustavo Figueroa obtained their Bachelor's degree in Biology & Environmental Studies from Lawrence University, where they studied from 2013 to 2017.
