Andrea Tanner Ph.D., Rn, Ncsn

Andrea Tanner, PhD, RN, NCSN, is a Tenure-track Assistant Professor at Indiana University Bloomington since August 2023 and serves as a Research Strategist for the National Association of School Nurses from September 2021. In this role, Andrea provides strategic guidance on research trajectories and program evaluations, while also consulting staff in research and evaluation areas. Prior to these positions, Andrea completed a T32 Postdoctoral Fellowship at Indiana University–Purdue University Indianapolis from June 2021 to August 2023 and served as the Coordinator of Health Services and School Nurse for the New Albany-Floyd County Consolidated School Corporation from August 2003 to May 2021. Earlier nursing experience includes work as a Registered Nurse at Kosair Children's Hospital, focusing on cancer and renal care, as well as bone marrow transplant care. Academic qualifications include a PhD in Nursing Science from Indiana University Indianapolis, a Master of Science in Nursing from the University of Missouri-Columbia, and a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Murray State University.
