Barbara Bell-Dees is charged with formulating NASCO’s strategy for talent management, including associate recruitment, development and retention. She focuses on developing NASCO’s major competitive differentiator — our people and high-performing teams — ensuring that associates have the tools they need to continue excelling. Barbara is also tasked with ensuring that NASCO is a learning organization, putting emphasis on identifying strategic job roles within the company and building a learning structure to better develop the talent and skills of NASCO’s associates so we can best meet the needs of our customers.
Barbara has over 25 years of experience in human resource management and administration. Since joining NASCO, she has overseen the company’s exponential increase in associates, and she has been instrumental in ensuring that NASCO selects the best candidates and gains the most benefit from those choices. To that end, for more than 10 years, NASCO has maintained a single-digit attrition rate, and the company’s engagement and associate satisfaction scores have been ranked as best-in-class. In addition, Barbara’s team received the 2010 SkillSoft Integrating Learning into the Life of the Enterprise award. Barbara and her team regularly speak at industry conferences on how human resources teams can offer the most benefit to their companies and employees.
Barbara currently sits on the Employee and Wellness Activity Committee, the Compensation and Benefit Committee, and the Investment Committee for NASCO. She is a member of the Society of Human Resource Management (SHRM) and has and has earned Human Resource Management certifications, both as a Professional and as a Certified Professional, from the SHRM and the HR Certification Institute.
