Mark Clarke serves as the Associate Provost for Faculty Development and Faculty Affairs at the University of Houston since December 2002, overseeing faculty recruitment, development, and promotion. Clarke has held several interim leadership positions, including Vice-Provost for UH Global Initiatives, focusing on international collaborations, and Dean of the College of Technology, where responsibility included operations and expansion of academic programs. As Associate Vice Chancellor/Vice President for Technology Transfer, Clarke managed a portfolio of over 360 patents and promoted innovation and entrepreneurship at the university. An accomplished academic, Clarke also has a background as an Associate Professor with expertise in various scientific fields. Clarke is a Fellow of the National Academy of Inventors and has contributed to the research community through previous roles at USRA and NASA. Education includes a Ph.D. in Cell Biology and Biochemistry from The Manchester Metropolitan University.
