Joel Pel is a seasoned professional in the field of research and development, currently serving as Senior Director of R&D at Natera since February 2023. Prior to this role, Joel held multiple leadership positions at Boreal Genomics from 2009 to February 2023, including Chief Scientific Officer, Head of Technology Development, and Head of Applied Research, where Joel was also a co-founder. Academic credentials include a PhD in Applied Biophysics and a Bachelor of Applied Science in Engineering Physics, both obtained from The University of British Columbia, between 2000 and 2009.
