Nicolae Miron

President And Owner at NGP

Nicolae Miron has extensive work experience in various scientific and engineering roles. Nicolae began their career as a Senior Scientist at the Institute of Atomic Physics, where they developed laser-based measuring instrumentation. During their time at the institute, Miron designed and prototyped wideband infrared camera systems and an absolute laser power-meter with electrical calibration. Nicolae also developed equipment for detecting surface defects on silicon wafers and laser interferometer equipment for dial indicators monitoring.

Miron later worked as a Senior Design Engineer at Ilco Unican, where they contributed to product design. Nicolae then joined StockerYale Canada Inc as a Research Scientist, where they conducted laboratory experiments to prove the validity of Optune's proprietary optical tuning technology. Nicolae also played a key role in the development of the first tunable optical system unit.

In 1999, Miron became the President and owner of NGP Inc, where they focused on the development of a straightness reference for railway rails measurement. Nicolae later founded Optune Technologies Inc and served as its President. In this role, they invented Optune's proprietary optical tuning technology and built prototypes of tunable optical filters. Miron was also involved in the development of a new optical tuning technology, for which they obtained a U.S. patent.

In 2006, Miron joined Roctest Ltd as a Senior Research Scientist. Nicolae conducted research on using Optune's tunable optical filter to build a broad tuning range tunable fiber optic laser. Nicolae also led projects related to geotechnical and structural engineering monitoring equipment and developed a two-channel data logger for vibrating-wire sensors.

Overall, Nicolae Miron has a diverse background in scientific research, engineering design, and business leadership.

Nicolae Miron's education history begins in 1966 when they enrolled at the Polytechnic University of Bucharest. From 1966 to 1971, they pursued a degree in Electrical, Electronics, and Communications Engineering, earning a Diploma as an Electronic Engineer. During the same period, they also obtained a Ph.D. in Electronic Engineering and Telecommunications, with a focus on Laser Instrumentation.

In 1974, Nicolae Miron joined the Central Institute of Physics, where they pursued a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) degree in Laser and Optical Engineering. Nicolae completed this program in 1994, indicating a long period of dedication to their research.

Additionally, from 1977 to 1980, they attended the Central Institute of Physics in Bucharest, Romania, specializing in Laser Measuring Instrumentation, resulting in another Ph.D. degree.

Overall, Nicolae Miron's education history demonstrates a strong focus on engineering, particularly in the areas of electrical, electronics, and laser technology, as evidenced by their multiple degrees and extensive time dedicated to their studies.
