Guaning Prof Su is the President Emeritus and a Professor of Electrical and Electronic Engineering at Nanyang Technological University, where tenure began in January 2003. In this current role, significant efforts are focused on elevating the university's profile and engaging with teaching and research, particularly in China. Previously, as President from January 2003 to June 2011, major achievements included expanding enrollment by 10,000 students, establishing new schools, enhancing faculty standards, and securing substantial research funding. Prior to this, Guaning Prof Su served as the founding Chief Executive of the Defence Science and Technology Agency, overseeing critical defense projects, and held the position of Deputy Secretary (Technology) at the Ministry of Defence of Singapore. Educational qualifications include degrees from prestigious institutions such as Harvard Business School, Stanford University, Caltech, and the University of Alberta, with a focus on engineering and management.
