John Mlynczak is an accomplished music educator and executive with extensive experience in various leadership roles. Currently serving as the Chief Executive Officer at NAMM since May 2023, Mlynczak previously held the position of Vice President, Music Education & Technology at Hal Leonard LLC from February 2021 to May 2023. Additional roles include Adjunct Professor at Vandercook College of Music and Louisiana State University, President of the Technology Institute for Music Education, and Managing Director at Noteflight. Mlynczak has also contributed to the field as Director of Education at PreSonus Audio Electronics and held educational roles with the Louisiana Department of Education and St. Luke's Episcopal School. Academic credentials include a Master of Education in Educational Leadership from Louisiana State University and a Master of Music in Brass Instruments, alongside a Bachelor of Music in Music Education from Virginia Commonwealth University.
