Sharon Horton currently serves as Executive Director at NAMI NYS since October 2022, previously holding the position of Interim Executive Director. From February 2016 to October 2022, Sharon held various roles at the American Heart Association/American Stroke Association, including Development Director for Social Events, where responsibilities involved the recruitment of C-suite volunteer leaders and the development of corporate engagement strategies. Prior experience includes serving as Director of Heart Walk at the American Cancer Society, and Manager of Community Events in Palm Beach/Martin/St. Lucie, focusing on community-based events and volunteer mobilization. Additionally, Sharon worked as Events & Programs Director at the Fulton Montgomery Regional Chamber of Commerce, overseeing special events and communication efforts. Earlier career experience includes Facility Manager at Perthshire Banquet House and Dinner Theatre, where business operations, customer service, and marketing were key areas of focus.
