Jim Funai, Ph.D., is an Assistant Professor in the Plant Science and Landscape Technology Program at Cuyahoga Community College since August 2009. Funai has a diverse background in the landscaping industry, having held positions such as Production Manager at Wheeler Landscaping and Willoway Nurseries, and Sales Associate at Suncrest Gardens. As Landscape Industry Certified, Funai has been affiliated with Planet since 2005. Academic qualifications include a Ph.D. in Urban Forestry from Mendel University in Brno, a Master's degree in Agricultural and Extension Education Services from Colorado State University, and a Bachelor of Science in Agriculture, Landscape Horticulture from The Ohio State University. Additionally, Funai received an honorary degree in Urban Horticulture from China Agricultural University.
