Jennifer LeFurgy, PhD

Executive Director, Naiop Research Foundation at NAIOP

Jennifer LeFurgy, PhD, has a diverse work experience spanning various roles in research, project management, and leadership. Currently, they serve as the Executive Director at the NAIOP Research Foundation since July 2022. Prior to this, they held positions at NAIOP, a commercial real estate development association, including Vice President of Knowledge & Research and Research Director from November 2018 to present and August 2017 to November 2018, respectively.

Before joining NAIOP, Jennifer pursued their doctoral studies at Virginia Tech, where they worked as a Doctoral Student from September 2015 to May 2017. Jennifer also worked as a Project Manager at Arlington Innovation Center, Virginia Tech, from August 2009 to February 2015.

Jennifer's earlier experiences include serving as a Principal at JBL Planning and Research from January 2007 to October 2009, Deputy Director at the Metropolitan Institute at Virginia Tech from 2002 to 2006, and Project Manager at UniDev, LLC from 2001 to 2002.

Jennifer's career began at the Urban Land Institute, where they held the position of Senior Associate from 1997 to 2001. During their time there, they conducted research, developed meeting programs, coordinated urban revitalization forums, and authored reports on urban redevelopment and housing policy.

Jennifer LeFurgy, PhD received their Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree in Religion and Classics from the University of Rochester in 1991. From 1995 to 1998, they pursued their Master of Urban and Regional Planning (MURP) degree at the University of Virginia. Jennifer completed their education by obtaining a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree in Planning, Governance, and Globalization from Virginia Tech in 2016.
