Topher Hughes, CPA, PhD, currently serves as an Accreditation and Financial Examination Specialist and P&C Financial Analyst at the National Association of Insurance Commissioners (NAIC) since July 2021, focusing on financial analysis of insurance companies through SAP and GAAP filings and developing Tableau dashboards. In addition, Topher has been an Adjunct Instructor at the University of Missouri-Kansas City for courses in Environmental Studies and Financial Literacy during 2023. Previous experience includes an Investment Analyst internship at Two West Advisors, where retirement fund analysis was conducted using Morningstar data, and various academic roles, including Assistant Professor at Eastern Kentucky University, where courses in Geosciences were taught, and postdoctoral positions with significant research contributions in modeling and remote sensing. Topher's academic credentials span a Bachelor's in Computer Science, a Master's in Finance, and a PhD in Geology, with ongoing studies toward a Bachelor of Science in Accounting.
