Jay Sage has extensive work experience in biochemistry, technology development, and assay development. Jay began their career in 2001 as a Research Associate at Michigan State University, where they assisted in the development of a genetic screen for essential genes of E. coli. Jay then moved to UMass Medical School in 2005, where they worked as a Postdoctoral Associate and a Graduate Research Associate. During this time, they characterized caffeine-mediated regulation of GLUT1 function, evaluated the kinetics of radiolabeled vitamin C and glucose transport, and established Rad51 as a novel mitochondrial protein. In 2014, they joined Nabsys as an Associate Director of Biochemistry, Senior Scientist of Technology Development, and Scientist of Assay Development.
Jay Sage obtained a B.S. in Biochemistry & Molecular Biology from Michigan State University between 1999 and 2005. Jay then went on to pursue a PhD in Biochemistry & Molecular Pharmacology from the University of Massachusetts Medical School, which they completed in 2011.
