Walter Vargas is a seasoned technology professional with extensive experience in engineering and system reliability. Currently serving as a Principal Engineer at N26 since November 2019, Walter contributes to the technical vision and roadmap for the Runtime Platform. Prior to this role, Walter was Tech Lead and Senior Site Reliability Engineer at Amazon Web Services from October 2017 to October 2019, focusing on operations management and automation within AWS Managed Services. In addition, Walter held the position of AWS DevOps Engineer at Flux7 Labs Inc. and served as CEO and founding member of Cooperativa Venezolana de Tecnologías Libres R.S. (Covetel) from 2007 to June 2015, where strategic technology projects were developed for the government sector. Walter's earlier career includes consulting for PDVSA. An educational background includes a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science from Open Source Society University and a degree in Computer Engineering from IUT San Cristóbal.
