Jacob Mardell is an experienced professional in the field of journalism and research, currently serving as Editorial Coordinator at n-ost, the Network for border crossing journalism, since February 2023. Prior to this role, Jacob held multiple positions at the Mercator Institute for China Studies (MERICS) gGmbH from January 2018 to July 2022, including Research Fellow, Analyst, Research Assistant, and Intern. Additionally, Jacob contributed as an Author for the Berlin Policy Journal from March 2019 to March 2020. Jacob's academic background includes a Master’s Degree in Chinese Studies from SOAS University of London, a Bachelor’s Degree in English Language and Literature from King's College London, and studies in International Relations and Chinese at Renmin University of China.
