Nancy Deschênes started their work experience in 1992 as a Programmer at Concordia University, where they worked until 1996. Nancy then joined Libertel Montréal/Montreal Freenet as a Systems Administrator in 1996, where they developed a platform to provide free or low-cost Internet access. After that, they became a self-employed Consultant in 1996. In 2010, Nancy became a Technical Co-founder at myTurn, where they designed the architecture for their web application and guided its development while evaluating and leveraging appropriate technologies.
Nancy Deschênes obtained their Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science from McGill University, which they attended from 1989 to 1992. In addition to their formal education, they also completed several certification courses. In November 2012, they obtained a certification in "Functional Programming Principles in Scala" from Coursera. Nancy also completed courses in "Quantum Mechanics and Quantum Computation" in September 2012 and "Probabilistic Graphical Models" in May 2012, both from Coursera.
