Rebecca Powell has a diverse work experience in various scientific roles. Rebecca started their career in 2013 as an intern at Kymab Ltd before becoming a research associate from 2015 to 2017. Rebecca then pursued their PhD at UCL from 2017 to 2022, where they focused on improving the efficiency of peripheral nerve injury repair using cell and tissue engineering. During this time, they developed neural constructs using Schwann cells differentiated from human iPSCs seeded into collagen hydrogels. In 2022, Rebecca briefly worked as a nerve tissue engineer at UCL before joining Mytos in 2023 as a scientist.
Rebecca Powell pursued their education with a Bachelor's degree in Biology with a Year in Industry from Imperial College London. Rebecca attended this institution from 2011 to 2015. Rebecca later continued their academic journey at UCL (University College London). Here, they pursued a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) with a focus on the fundamental mechanisms of disease. Rebecca successfully completed their PhD from UCL in 2022.
