Howard Waterfall began their career in 1994 as a Team Lead at Artech Studios. In 1998 they moved to Static 2358 Ltd as the CTO, where they recruited and managed a software engineering team responsible for creating content for an interactive television gaming service, introduced standard software development practices and infrastructure, and defined technical terms for joint ventures. In 2001 they founded Joule Media Inc and served as President, defining a business plan for an interactive television gaming service, preparing game content to support the sales effort and obtaining a Canadian broadcast license, and managing contract developers and artists. In 2005 they became the Director of Software Development at GestureTek, managing numerous software engineering teams responsible for delivering computer vision SDKs and custom applications for the mobile & PC markets, introducing standard software development best practices and agile processes to support software development in a production environment, and managing other support functions including IT and office administration. In 2012 they moved to Intel Corporation as a Software Engineering Manager, recruiting and managing a software engineering team responsible for delivering computer vision solutions to the RealSense 3D camera SDK, introducing agile processes and supporting infrastructure to support software development in a production environment, and preparing 3rd party product evaluations for potential licensing and comparison with solutions developed internally. Finally, in 2021 they joined Mythic as the Senior Director of AI.
Howard Waterfall graduated from Carleton University in Canada with a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry (Honors).
