René Backx has a diverse work experience spanning various industries and roles. René started their career in 2005 as a Graduation Trainee at Efteling, where they focused on modeling the effects of new attractions on visitor numbers in European theme parks. René then worked as a Student Assistant at Tilburg University in 2006, where they processed data for research on the impact of price wars on consumer behavior in Dutch supermarkets.
In 2006, René returned to Efteling as an Assistant Researcher, further developing their skills in quantitative research and modeling. René then joined De Nationale DenkTank in 2008 as a Participant, analyzing health problems of Dutch adolescents and creating innovative solutions.
In 2010, René transitioned to Accenture, where they held several roles over the course of 9 years. René started as a Strategy Analyst, then became a Consultant in Business Strategy, and eventually advanced to the position of Manager in Business Strategy. In these roles, they provided strategic advice to C-level and business unit management, focusing on business growth, innovation, and development. René was responsible for various areas, including business growth strategy, valuation, partnerships, and marketing/sales.
Most recently, René joined MX3D in 2019. René initially worked as a Business Developer before being promoted to the position of Chief Commercial Officer in April 2020. In their current role, they are responsible for driving commercial strategies and overseeing business development efforts.
René Backx has a strong educational background in business and management. In 2001, they enrolled at Tilburg University and completed their MSc/Drs degree in Business Economics in 2006. Following this, from 2006 to 2008, they pursued an M.Phil in Business at Tilburg University. In 2007, they briefly attended the University of Technology Sydney, where they obtained an MSc in Marketing & Event Management.
In addition to their degrees, René Backx has also acquired several certifications. René obtained a certification in "Leading with Analytics-Powered Strategy" from Northwestern University - Kellogg School of Management in April 2019. René also holds certifications in "Business Strategy" and "Dynamics in the C-Suite" from INSEAD, although the exact dates of completion are not provided.
