Kévin Affari has a diverse work experience that spans various fields.
Kévin currently works as an Additive Manufacturing Engineer specialized in WAAM at MX3D since October 2021. In this role, they are responsible for qualifying and producing WAAM parts. Their tasks include robot programming, toolpath generation, welding parameter optimization, project management, and printing various materials.
From August 2017 to September 2021, Kévin worked at Institut Maupertuis as an Ingénieur applications soudage et fabrication additive (IWE). Here, they focused on the development of arc-wire additive manufacturing (WAAM) projects for research and clients. Their responsibilities included feasibility studies, parameter optimization, trajectory generation, 3D tooling design, robot programming, prototype production, characterization through mechanical tests and metallographic studies, project management, budgeting, supervision of interns, and report writing. Kévin also had a brief role as a Stagiaire ingénieur soudeur, where they participated in a research project on laser-wire additive manufacturing.
Kévin also has experience as an Encadrant travaux pratiques at ECAM Rennes - Louis de Broglie from January 2021 to July 2021. In this role, they supervised practical work in industrial mechanics for groups of engineering students.
Before entering the engineering field, Kévin worked as a Préparateur de commandes at SYSTEME U from April 2015 to March 2017. Their responsibilities included order preparation and operating a forklift for product distribution.
Lastly, in June 2016, Kévin served as a research assistant in the physics and astronomy laboratory at Hunter College for a period of two months.
Kévin Affari completed their education in two institutions. Kévin attended Polytech Nantes from 2014 to 2017, where they earned a Diplôme d'ingénieur in Ingénierie des matériaux with a specialization in soudage (IWE). Prior to that, they studied at Lycée Rabelais from 2012 to 2014, where they pursued CPGE PCSI - PSI, although the degree obtained is not specified.
Additionally, Kévin obtained a certification as an International Welding Engineer (IWE) in November 2017 from the Association Française du Soudage (AFS).
