Guangyu Shi is a seasoned software engineer and manager with extensive experience in leading teams and developing advanced technologies. Currently serving as a Staff Software Engineer and Manager at Google since May 2018, Guangyu has worked on significant projects such as Vertex AI, Borg, and Cloud Spanner. Prior to this role, Guangyu held positions at Pure Storage as a Tech Lead for FlashBlade, focusing on distributed transactions and scalability, and at Oracle, contributing to performance improvements on Solaris. Additionally, Guangyu is involved with the MVLA Soccer Club as a Youth Sports Team Manager since August 2023. Academically, Guangyu holds a Master of Science in Computer Engineering from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and a Bachelor of Science in Information Science and Electronic Engineering from Zhejiang University.
