Melissa Dykstra is an experienced educator with a focus on dance and music for early childhood and elementary grades. Currently serving as a Dance Educator at Castro Valley Performing Arts since March 2022 and a Music Educator with Music for Minors since September 2021, Melissa has a diverse background that includes roles as a Community Teaching Artist with Alonzo King LINES Ballet, a Kindergarten Assistant and Music Teacher at Woodroe Woods School, and a tutor in the AVID program at Canyon Middle School. Previous positions encompass teaching music at various schools as part of Castro Valley School of Music and providing musical instruction as a docent for Music For Minors II. Melissa's volunteer experience includes supporting classroom activities and tutoring at Jensen Ranch Elementary. With a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Dance from The Ohio State University and an education in massage therapy, Melissa brings a comprehensive and artistic approach to children's education.
