Carlos Ortega is a seasoned museum professional currently serving as Chief Curator at the Museum of Ventura County since May 2023. Previously, Carlos held the role of Curator at the Rancho Los Cerritos Foundation, recognized as a significant historic landmark in Long Beach, CA, from August 2021 to March 2023. From 2013 to 2019, Carlos was the Exhibitions Director at the Museum of Latin American Art, where innovative art experiences were developed to enhance audience engagement. Carlos's extensive experience includes positions such as Account Manager at Quilez & Associates, Inc., Collections Specialist at The Wende Museum of the Cold War, and Collections Manager & Registrar at the Museum of Latin American Art. Carlos holds a Master of Arts in Museum Studies from the University of Leicester and a Bachelor's degree in Art History from Universidad del PaÃs Vasco, complemented by a scholarship in Museum Studies from Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin.
